This simple Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie is one of my go-to summer breakfasts. With all of the increasingly off-the-wall cottage cheese recipes circulating the internet this year, this recipe is refreshingly simple. It also, well, actually makes sense as a cottage cheese recipe. As a bonus, it’s absolutely protein-packed!

Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie Key Ingredients

Frozen Banana: To make things creamy. I didn’t want the banana flavor to overpower our cheesecake vibes, so I limited it to just half of one.

Frozen Strawberries: Fruit is frozen at peak freshness, so this is an excellent way to enjoy summer strawberries year-round.

Cottage Cheese: Not to speak in an internet echo chamber, but Good Culture is hands-down the best cottage cheese out there. I would recommend their 2% or whole milk varieties for this smoothie.

Vanilla Protein Powder: Use your favorite! I’ve been loving this oat milk-based one from Garden of Life lately.

Graham Crackers: Optional, but not really. I love layering in the graham crackers. Pour half of the smoothie into a glass and crumble one sheet of graham crackers on top. Pour remaining smoothie over it, and top with another crumbled sheet of graham crackers.

Tips for Better Smoothies

  • Freeze Your Bananas: Don’t skip this step! Smoothies with room temperature bananas taste very different. I break my bananas in half, lay them flat, and freeze them in a freezer Ziplock bag. You could also freeze them whole or in slices.
  • Scrape Down the Blender: Use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the blender as needed to be sure everything is well-blended (we do not like a chunky smoothie!).
  • Blend Longer Than You Think: Be sure to blend longer than you think to make sure that the cauliflower is really incorporated and no chunks remain.
