About the June Table

Allison of The June Table holds a cup of tea and gazes to the left

Hi, I’m Allison! Welcome to The June Table, a plant-curious food website full of fresh and flavorful meals and treats that nourish you and the people you love.

I am a mental health counselor and yoga teacher by training and a self-taught cook and food enthusiast. I love plants and all the ways they can improve our health and well-being. I’m also a pretty big fan of cheese and butter. I firmly believe that we can create nutrient-dense meals that burst with flavor and focus on health without deprivation or restriction.

The idea for the June Table was born during the COVID-19 pandemic when I, like many others, was spending much more time at home and experiencing elevated anxiety. I have always loved cooking and baking and found that it was especially soothing and cathartic during a particularly difficult time. I began writing down and testing recipes, and eventually got up the courage to put them on the internet!

When I’m not blogging it up, you will likely find me hiking a mountain with my partner, reading a novel, or doing yoga.

Why “The June Table”?

Simply put, the June Table is full of seasonal and plant-forward goodness. I was born in June and have always loved the abundance of fresh produce available throughout the summer. Not only is eating seasonally more delicious, it is more affordable and nutrient-dense too!
